Altered Rivals Update (3.0)

Altered Rivals Logo

NORMALLY this would be “Altered 2.0” but back in June I had released this game and it wasn’t quite as good as it should have been. It was totally overhauled and made into Altered 2.0, a much smoother experience. Today marks the (late) release of it’s first major supplemental update called “Rivals.”

The Rivals update introduces some rules for focusing on the antagonists of our heroes. The main villains they’ll come into contact with and how to make them a powerful and epic fight.

Along with the Rivals addition comes 4 new powers (one in each tier.)

  • Ultimate Weapon allows you to wield a signature weapon with supreme proficiency. Think like Captain America’s Shield or Thor’s Hammer.
  • Soul Manipulation gives you the key to unlocking the power of the human soul as both a weapon and a potential target in your enemies. With attacks that pierce armor and float straight through magical resistance, Soul Manipulation is one of the most dangerous abilities in Altered.
  • Orb of Power grants you the ability to spawn and control small orbs that increase attribute proficiency turning you into a versatile and capable hero who can fill any role the party needs. You can also assign the Orbs to your teammates when they’re in need, or just straight bash your enemies with them in a pinch.
  • Reanimation is a dark and ghastly power that allows you to zombify corpses turning the deceased into your minions and servants. Can anyone who can raise an undead army truly be a hero?

RPG a Month #2 – Altered 3.0

You’re free to download, distribute, share, and play Altered as much as you want. You are NOT free to edit or alter Altered in any way without Archfossil permission. If you have suggestions to change the game, use the contact page and let me know.

You want in on a secret? Check out the Archfossil Patreon and you will be. Every monthly update and game release is posted there first for Patreons only. And at the higher tiers you can provide your own input as to what should be released and why.

Free games every month is an awesome idea, so why not be a part of it?
